Hi, I'm Katelyn Godsey! I'm a Licensed Professional Counseling Associate under the supervision of Dr. Tracy McClung PhD, LPC-S, RPT-S . I hold a Master's of Science degree in Counseling from Southern Methodist University. More importantly, I'm a wife, mom, and lover of all furry creatures. In my free time, you can find me taking a run, binge-watching Netflix, or grabbing coffee with a friend.
I believe counseling is a journey of repairing wounds, addressing challenging parts of our stories, and learning about yourself and your strengths to become more of who you were meant to be. My sincere hope is to support individuals in unraveling their story and offer perspectives and insight that produce growth and transformation.
My education and experience have enabled me to provide counseling to adolescents, adults, and couples addressing a variety of concerns. It's an honor to compassionately support my clients working through anxiety, depression, grief, relationship concerns, or who have questions about their faith and spirituality. Additionally, I specialize in the perinatal mental health space.
Whatever you may be seeking support for, my hope is to offer a safe space where you can come as you are. Individual counseling is a brave space to set goals and seek personal growth. Ultimately it’s an absolute privilege to learn your story, struggles, pain, and strengths throughout the counseling process and to offer encouragement, perspective, and empathy.
Whether you have been together 6 months or 60 years, I believe all relationships can benefit from couples therapy and marriage counseling to learn more about one another, work through interpersonal conflicts, and improve your connection. I am certified in Prepare-Enrich, which is the premier relationship assessment tool and skill-building program used nationally and internationally.
Parenthood and transitioning into this role often come with a myriad of emotions. Comparison and control, anxiety and worry, depression and doubt, insecurity and inferiority can become our sounding board. My hope is to use the counseling space to meet mamas where they are on their journey, to validate their emotions, normalize their experience, and help provide the tools and resources they need to feel supported.
